Master's degree program is a postgraduate education and its educational programs are aimed at training personnel with the award of a Master's degree.
Requirements for admission to the Master's degree program
Individuals who have mastered training programs of higher education are accepted to the Master's degree program.
The comprehensive testing procedure for admission to the Master's degree program
Acceptance of applications for Master's degree program in the organizations of higher and postgraduate study is carried out by the admissions committees of the organizations of higher and postgraduate study and (or) through the information system of the National Testing Center (app.testcenter.kz) within the following deadlines:
1. from June 1 to July 8 of a calendar year;
2. from October 28 to November 10 of a calendar year.
Comprehensive testing for admission to the Master's degree program is carried out within the following deadlines:
1) from July 20 to August 10 of a calendar year;
2) from November 18 to December 11 of a calendar year.
The entrance exam in Arabic and creative exams for applicants to the Master's degree program are held at the organizations of higher and postgraduate study within the following deadlines:
1) from July 16 to July 25 of a calendar year;
2) from November 21 to November 28 of a calendar year.
Admission to the Master's degree program is carried out within the following deadlines:
- from August 15 to August 28 of a calendar year;
- from December 26 to January 10 of a calendar year.
Persons having international certificates confirming proficiency in a foreign language such as IELTS (International English Language Tests System), TOEFL IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-based test), DSH (Deutsche Sprachpruefung fuer den Hochschulzugang), TestDaF-Prufung, TFI (Test de Français International), Diplome d'Etudes en Langue française, DALF (Diplome Approfondi de Langue française), TCF (Test de connaissance du français) and international certificates of completion of the standardized GRE test (Graduate Record Examinations) need to provide data about a certificate when applying to take the comprehensive testing in electronic format and in the competition.
The transfer of the points of the above certificates is carried out after submitting an application for participation in the competition for awarding educational grants at the expense of the republican budget or the local budget or when enrolling in the organizations of higher and postgraduate study on a paid basis according to appendices 1-2, 2, 4 to the Standard rules for admission to educational organizations implementing educational programs of postgraduate education (Standard Rules).
If preferred, individuals enrolling to the Master's degree program for groups of educational programs in such fields as "Pedagogical Sciences", "Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics", "Information and Communication Technologies", "Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction Industries", as well as "Humanities", "Social Sciences", "Business and Management" are exempt from a foreign language examination and comprehensive testing for Master's degree program with Kazakh or Russian languages of study upon availability of an international certificate on taking standardized GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) test with scores according to Appendix 2 to the Standard Rules.
Persons entering the Master's degree program in the groups of educational programs in the field of training "Business and Management", if they have an international certificate of passing the standardized GMAT test (Graduate Management Admission Test), are exempt from taking comprehensive testing for Master's degree program with Kazakh or Russian languages of study with the scores according to Appendix 4 to the Standard Rules.
When submitting documents for participation in the competition for the award of an educational grant, as well as when enrolling in the organizations of higher and postgraduate study, the authenticity and validity of the certificates submitted are checked by the admissions committees of the organizations of higher and postgraduate study.
Individuals who have completed foreign organizations of higher and postgraduate study in countries where state or official language is English and which have specialized accreditation of foreign accreditation bodies included in the registers and (or) associations of accreditation bodies of the member states of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) are exempt from taking a test in foreign language (English) within 5 years when enrolling to the master's degree program with Kazakh or Russian language of study.
