The service for assignment of kandas status is temporarily unavailable. To receive the service, please contact the local executive bodies (LEBs) of the regions, as well as the cities of Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent.
How to get the service online
- Sign in on the Portal and click "Order Service Online" button.
- Fill in an application and sign it using a digital signature or SMS password (it is mandatory to have registration in the Mobile Citizens Database).
- In your personal account (in "History of Obtained Services" section) familiarize with a notification on application processing status, which will be sent within the specified time.

For obtaining kandas status under the general procedure or based on the consent of the local executive body through foreign missions of the Republic of Kazakhstan or through the "Government for Citizens" State Corporation, the following documents are required:
- Personal history (in any form).
- Copies of identity documents of the applicant and their family members (if any), including a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian of the birth certificate, foreign passport, stateless person identity card, or other official documents issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin of ethnic Kazakhs confirming the nationality of the applicants, shall be submitted in the absence of a recommendation from the Commission for Determining Ethnic Kazakh Affiliation for persons applying for kandas status and citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the simplified (registration) procedure, as provided for in subparagraph 11-1) of Article 11 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Population Migration.”
- Copies of documents establishing an applicant's compliance with the conditions provided for in subclause 18) of Clause 2 of the Rules.
The documents are submitted in original version and copies for verification, afterwards original versions of the documents (except for personal history) are returned to a service recipient.
To extend the status:
- The applicant submits the application in accordance with Appendix 6.
It is not allowed to request documents from applicants that can be obtained from the information systems.
Result of the service delivery
When assigning the kandas status: issuance of a kandas certificate, in case of extension of kandas status: decision of a local executive body.
The State Corporation ensures the storage of documents in the information system of the State Corporation for 1 year.
At the request of an applicant, an employee of the State Corporation issues a kandas certificate previously received from the local executive body by downloading it from the information system of State Corporation.
